christmas family photo

Amanda & Emily fun!

Emily in snow

Saturday we got back from the beach at Depoe Bay. We missed all the snow 20+ feet of it back in Battle Ground, WA. We were able to get out and do last minute Christmas shopping and best of all enjoy the beauty of the Oregon coast. There were some rain showers, hail, sunshine, wind and we got to watch it all from our picturesque window at our condo. The girls read, watched movies, went to the hot tub. Now reality is back and I go to work tomorrow, but only for two days, and I am off again. Yay!

dogwood tree

Here are some pictures of the Dogwood tree the girls & I got Brent last year for Father's Day .

Sorry, I am just trying to figure out this posting thing. The pictures came up first before I started talking about the trip, so it is a bit confusing at first. Anyway these next pictures are of the Seattle trip
Looking up through the original skylights. From below they look clear, but from the top of the sidewalk, they are purple. Apparently over the years, sunlight turns the clear manganese to purple.

The hollow log above represents a piece of the original water system, part of the next picture.

Seattle trip

Yesterday the family took an overnight trip to Seattle. We took the underground tour of Seattle which was quite interesting & informative about the beginnings of Seattle. We also visited Pike's Market which is always a lot of fun but too many people.

I am posting some photos of the trip. Also, Emily & I are going to the coast tomorrow & I should have some more photos from that as we plan on going on a hike.

Everyone who sees this should start their own blog so we can share photos & stories and keep in touch.

Amanda brought a cat home from school. Her name is "Squishy". Squishy is about 2 months old and is very cute and sweet.
